Green economy The green economy is the concept developed by UnEP - the Green Economy Initiative. The Green Economy is defined as an economy that results in improved human well-being and social equity, while significantly reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcities. In its simplest expression, a Green Economy can be thought of as one that is low carbon, resource efficient and socially inclusive. Its growth in income and employment is driven by public and private investments, which reduce carbon emissions and pollution, enhance energy and resource efficiency and prevent the loss of bio-diversity and ecosystem services. |
Économie verte L'économie verte est le concept élaboré par le Programme des Nations unies pour l'environnement (PNUE). L'économie verte est définie comme une économie qui engendre une amélioration du bien-être humain et de la justice sociale, tout en réduisant sensiblement les risques environnementaux et les pénuries écologiques. Pour parler simplement, une économie verte peut être décrite comme une économie produisant peu de carbone, utilisant efficacement les ressources et favorisant l'insertion sociale. La croissance des revenus et de l'emploi provient d'investissements publics et privés qui réduisent les émissions de carbone et la pollution, renforcent l'utilisation rationnelle des ressources et l'efficacité énergétique et empêchent la perte de biodiversité et de services environnementaux. |
Groene economie Het concept van de groene economie is ontwikkeld door het Green Economy Initiative van het UNEP. Groene economie wordt gedefinieerd als een economie die leidt tot meer menselijk welzijn en sociale rechtvaardigheid, en tegelijkertijd tot een forse vermindering van milieurisico's en ecologische schaarste. In haar meest eenvoudige vorm kan een groene economie worden gezien als een koolstofarme, hulpbronnenefficiënte en sociaal inclusieve economie. In een groene economie is inkomens- en werkgelegenheidsgroei te danken aan publieke en private investeringen om de CO2-uitstoot en verontreiniging te verminderen, energie- en hulpbronnenefficiëntie te bevorderen en verlies van biodiversiteit en ecosysteemdiensten te voorkomen. |
