The Province of West Flanders (PWVL) is keen to collaborate with partners to develop new projects to increase environmental sustainability throughout Two Seas. PWVL incorporates transport, environment, water storage and flooding, economic regeneration. We are therefore interested in all specific objectives of the Two Seas Programme.

The Province of West Flanders (PWVL) is keen to collaborate with partners to develop new projects to increase environmental sustainability throughout Two Seas by creating green lungs in the city, creating buffering zones for rainwater, managing the green areas on and around fortifications, using landscape parks als sponge areas to prevent inundations and floods, environmental awarenss, climate change for citizens/users/tourists/business.

The Province of West Flanders has been involved in European cooperation for over 25 years (INTERREG I, II, III, IV and V) and this in several cooperation programmes with France, Engeland and the Netherlands. The Province of West Flanders is largely rural - comprising coastal towns and the more rural district of the Westhoek. Thera are three National Parks in West Flanders and West Flanders is in Belgium the only marit!ime province.
