Overview

Plymouth City Council is a unitary Local Authority in the South West of England. Our vision is for Plymouth to be: “One of Europe’s most vibrant waterfront cities where an outstanding quality of life is enjoyed by everyone.” Plymouth is the largest city west of Bristol with a population of 267,000. As a maritime city we have a long tradition of innovation and smart specialisation; with a specific interest in marine, advanced manufacturing and digital technologies. Plymouth has a number of high-profile large businesses; however, these represent less than 1% of the 7,600 based in the city. The city has nearly 6,000 micro businesses and over 1,500 SMEs. Our challenge is to sustain and grow this local activity. As part of the Economic Development team within PCC, we have a major role in the social, economic, environmental and cultural regeneration of the city. We have broad and extensive experience of European funding, undertaking roles as both a lead and delivery partner. We welcome collaboration and partnership across all programme objectives.
