Ensuring electricity security, environmental sustainability, technology cooperation, and socio-economic development is a key priority of the 2 seas region, in a context dominated by growing concerns over electricity security, climate change, low carbon emissions and the link between electricity and development. The demands of electricity in the 2 seas region are growing more rapidly and particularly in the isolated communities as (e.g., rural), the electrical power is not available because of difficulty of energy network transportation and the energy needs is important. To do so, the 2 seas region collaboration (authorities, SMEs, Education and research, etc.) is essential for strong and sustainable economic growth, socio-economic development and competitiveness in this world. Technological cooperation is a part of the 2 seas partnership, focusing around some priorities such as working towards integration of 2 seas region to reduce low carbon emission by developing renewable energy system to provide electricity, increasing security and safety of energy supplies and promoting renewable energy and efficient energy. Despite the 2 seas commitment and the potential shown by Green Electricity to contribute to achieve it, the market of multisource energy is headed by Chinese manufacturers. Multi sources energy system suffers for the high cost, the utilization of Diesel engine which increases the CO2 emissions, low performance and reliability of Current battery. Based upon the demonstrations, implementation and calculations in the 2 seas region will be made in order to define the next steps, market size and impact of this zero emission CO2 solutions in Electricity. By overcoming the market by developing testing and demonstrating platforms of electricity, this market will be facilitated for the wider implementation of cross-border low carbon solutions to reduce the environmental impact. This market can be activated and the 2 seas region will become leading in 2 seas regionn for mobile and stationary platform without connection with the grid. A target of an estimated market of 3% of sales, 500 jobs, zero emission of CO2 in 10 years and most of those platforms will be produced by the 2 seas region

Bloc 1

Overall objective

In the 2 seas region especially in rural, the electrical power is not available because of difficulty of energy network transportation. The objective of the project is to produce electricity where grid connections are not available in the 2 seas community (isolated area). The objective is to produce a stationary and mobile renewable energy system. Those platforms can be used to charge batteries of electrical vehicles

Bloc 2


1. Development and implementation of stationary platform located in the 2 seas region (UK, B, NL) 2. Development of mobile platform located in the Nord will be provided. 3. The production of electricity is managed by software which will be developed. 4. Conferences, workshops, training on renewable energy will be developed jointly by all partners

Expected result

- Experience with the use of multi sources technologies in stationary and mobile platforms - The results will make the 2 seas region a leading area on stationary and mobile platform built and implemented in the region - Estimated market in 2030 around 2% of share - Many jobs created - Very low emission on CO2

Cross-border added-value

A fundamental aim of the Interreg 2 seas Programme is to simulate cross-border cooperation between various stakeholders in the 2 seas area a view to providing technological innovation in the context of sustainable growth. Each partner will be able to provide scientific and technical support to achieve the objective of this innovative project that would not be possible individually. The cooperation will benefit for all patners and their local industries, economic and professional organisations. Invitation of other partners active in the subject of the project are welcome to consitute the consortium specially based in United Kingdom, Netherlands and Belgium .
