Band Aid for a Levee

Prevention is better than cure. This certainly applies to floods. The partners of Polder2Cs have understood that all too well. They help to incorporate the potential impact of flooding into water safety plans, at strategic, tactical and operational level.

The project is based on 4 pillars: flood defence, emergency response, knowledge infrastructure and the development of a field station.

In this video, the project partners, led by STOWA (Foundation for Applied Water Management Research) from the Netherlands, show how they deal with damage to the dike. Even if prevention plans have been worked out down to the last detail, unforeseen problems can always throw a spanner in the works.
