Band Aid for a Levee
Prevention is better than cure. This certainly applies to floods. The partners of Polder2Cs have understood that all too well. They help to incorporate the potential impact of flooding into water safety plans, at strategic, tactical and operational level.
The project is based on 4 pillars: flood defence, emergency response, knowledge infrastructure and the development of a field station.
In this video, the project partners, led by STOWA (Foundation for Applied Water Management Research) from the Netherlands, show how they deal with damage to the dike. Even if prevention plans have been worked out down to the last detail, unforeseen problems can always throw a spanner in the works.
The Polder2C's website is definitely worth a visit: https://polder2cs.eu/

Reminder Beneficiary survey
A new year brings the perfect occasion to reflect on how you would like the Joint Secretariat to design its assistance; the set-up of our events and trainings, the way we present the Programme website and newsletter, our social media activity. All of these actions are meant to support you as a project partner of an approved project.
We would like to learn from you what we can do to improve these measures. Filling out the beneficiary survey only takes a couple of minutes, but makes an important difference. Thanks to your feedback we can tailor our efforts to your needs and as such help you in delivering quality projects.
Click here to go to the beneficiary survey.
The survey will close on 31 January.
Much appreciated!

New opportunities to meet our projects
Did you know that more than 600 organisations receive ERDF support through the Interreg 2 Seas Program? These are organisations from the Netherlands, Belgium (Flanders), France and England that work together across borders. In this way they contribute to the development of an innovative, sustainable and inclusive 2 Seas area.
Our project pages give you more information about the projects that bring these organizations together. You can select projects from a specific geographical area or you can also enable the thematic filter.
You can find the planned events in chronological order on our events page. Take a look here, maybe you see an event that matches your interests.

Brexit, end of transition period: what project partners need to know
The Withdrawal Agreement between the EU and the UK means that projects will be able to continue as planned, under the same arrangements and rules as before. Indeed, the Withdrawal Agreement means that UK will stay until the end of the whole Programming period, regardless of the current negotiations concerning future relationships.
As soon as the Withdrawal Agreement entered into force, the UK started its transition period which will end on 1 January 2021. The end of the transition period will bring changes to people’s life. Depending on the outcome current negotiations about the future relationship between the EU and UK, there might be adaptations needed also to Interreg 2 Seas projects.
The Q&A guidance that can be found here aims to clarify some questions coming notably from UK beneficiaries regarding their participation in 2 Seas projects after the end of the transition period.
Should UK beneficiaries have any specific questions, we strongly advise them to get in touch with the UK national authority and the UK territorial facilitators.
