Potential COVID-19 consequences for project performance

Over the last couple of days and weeks, different important sanitary measures have come into place in the 2 Seas Programme area. The 2 Seas Joint Secretariat is fully aware that projects may face different impacts on the implementation of their workplan because of these measures to reduce the potential spread of COVID-19.

We understand that projects do worry about issues linked to extension, performance, etc…

As always and even in front of such unprecedented situation, the 2 Seas Programme Authorities will remain pragmatic and will look for adequate and secured solutions.

You will undoubtedly understand that not knowing how long this situation is going to last for is another factor that requires caution on our side as far as communication on possible solutions is concerned.

The JS is currently gathering all project issues and queries in order to come up with additional guidance on the more long-term consequences linked to delayed activities.

We are also working on exploring different solutions, but these will require a decision from the Monitoring Committee. This implies that further guidance shall be available by Mid-April.

In any case, issues directly linked to the COVID-19 will be considered on a case-by-case basis with the JS lead and review officer of the given project prior tailor-made solutions can be proposed.

In addition, the JS is working on an alternative for the online seminars for approved project partners that were to take place this week and next week.

We will come back to you as soon as possible. Until then, we wish you to stay healthy, strong and positive during these exceptional times.
